I would have been happy to pay the developer a nominal fee to see if the program continues to improve and develop. I have downloaded (and paid for) a number of programs that I don't like as much as My Movie Library.
That's the problem. I recall this developer always asking for a small donation but as it is usually the case, most users never do (as well as I) because we just want it always for free. Comments are almost always positive for free software but as soon as one of them becomes "paid" or adds ads, then the same people of all of a sudden give the application a negative review.
You can retrieve the info from IMDB as usual. When you have entered all the new titles you can highlight one from the main list and click on the IMDB button at the top of the page. That will take you to the IMDB page of the title you selected. There you can view photos from the title and the cover photos for the title that were released. Some are good and some are bad. When you find the photo you want for the title image, click on it to make it as large as it will go, then right click and select save photo as, use the .jpg format and name the photo and tell it where to save the photo. Then you can add it to the title in your database by selecting to change the photo, browse and select the photo you just downloaded. Most of the time this will work. If it doesn't you can always scan the cover from the title you purchased, save it as a .jpg, resize it in some sort of photo editor, and use that photo.
I love the program, it's easy to install and really simple to use. The problem is it looks like the developer is no longer around. The website is closed. Bummer because they used to provide access to the movie covers for the database as well. I have been looking for another one that might accept the data, no luck so far. It's important that I hoved over 700 titles and don't want to re-enter all these data.
